Charitable Donation Requests

Schnucks is proud to make charitable donations to nonprofit organizations that are working to strengthen our communities. We donate only to organizations that are IRS-designated 501(c)(3) nonprofits and first responder units who provide emergency services to one of our store locations.

Please note that Schnucks requires no less than 90 days of advance notice to properly evaluate and process all requests. If your request is approved, the Schnucks Community Engagement team will contact you in the month prior to your event to finalize the details.

What Kinds Of Donations Does Schnucks Provide?

Our typical donation is in the form of a $25 gift card that can be used for a raffle/silent auction item, or put towards the purchase of product/s (such as bottled water or fresh fruit) to be used to help make your fundraising event successful. Our grocery bags are only available for our partnership program with our pantry agencies, they are not available for public requests.

Please keep in mind there are certain types of events and donation requests that do not qualify for support from Schnucks:

  • Requests for cash, grants or monetary sponsorships
  • Requests for alcohol donations
  • Requests for flowers or flower arrangements
  • Requests supporting political events, golf tournaments, galas, celebration/appreciation/recognition events, seminars, conferences, workshops or reunions
  • Fundraisers or benefits for individuals/families and/or events in memory of individuals/families
  • Third-party fundraisers

What Are The Requirements For My Organization To Be Considered For A Donation From Schnucks?

  • Your organization must:
    • Be an IRS-designated 501(c)(3) nonprofit or a first responder unit who provides emergency services to one of our store locations. You will be required to attach your organization's 501(c)(3) IRS Determination letter to your request (here is a sample 501(c)(3) letter).
    • Include your nonprofit organization's Employer Identification Number. If using a Group Number/registration, please provide the parent Organization’s EIN.
    • Applications that do not include the IRS Determination letter and the Employer Identification Number will be auto-declined.
  • Your application must be received at least 90 days in advance of your requested event date.

Please be aware that if your organization has received a donation from Schnucks in the past twelve months, it may decrease the likelihood of an additional request being approved.
